Childlife Lesson 665: Look in your own toybox first

‘Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can’ – Arthur Ashe

Yesterday my son and I headed to a local garden centre in search of a soil sieve – he’s not quite 2 and I didn’t tell him what I was looking for but as I scanned the aisles he stopped, looked up and pointed

‘There’

Yup, sure enough he was pointing up at the plastic moulded sieves hanging from a shelf. First, I stared at him in disbelief, then I remembered the blue plastic sieve – which he never uses-that came with his sandbox kit.
The nursery kept their sieve, we kept our $6, and went home to use what we have.
