Caffeine hit for the compost

Following Monday’s theme of scavenging free compost ingredients, I’ve gotten my husband hooked too!
Yesterday he proudly presented me with a full bucket of coffee grounds from the local Uni cafe – filled in just 6 hours I might add, thank God students love their coffee!

Coffee is an excellent nitrogen-rich ingredient for your compost bin, and worms love it too!

I also just discovered today another use for used coffee grounds (aside from my coffee & honey body scrub) check out this mosquito repellent trick from David Wolfe’s website.

I happily mixed my coffee into the bins this morning and thankfully we can bring the bucket back for free refills whenever we like!
